When and where are classes held 
by D Dance Theatre CIC 
 
Health and Well being classes with Bollywood Dance at The Newman Centre (at St Theresa's Church), Station Road, Cross Gates, Leeds LS15 7JY every Monday 11am to 12pm
Health and Well being classes with Bollywood Dance at Hunslet Library Waterloo st, Hunslet, Leeds LS10 2NS. Every Tuesday 11am to 12pm 
Health and Well being classes with Bollywood Dance at Parish Hall, Church St, Woodlesford, Leeds LS26 8RE Phone: 07736960810 Every Wednesday from 11am to 12:30pm - Tea and Coffee provided. 
 
After the classes, 12:30pm - 1pm people have the option to stay behind for coffee and a chat to meet new local people.  
 
Both Ladies and Gentlemen are welcome aged 50 and over. Classes cost £6 per session. We ask members pay £20 for the month so we know numbers each week (£25 if there are 5 Mondays and Wednesdays in a month). Alternatively you can pay as you go, one class at a time for £6.  
 
Free parking is available at all venues. 
 
Anyone struggling to get to the venues we do have car shares.

D Dance Theatre CIC was founded 
Mar 2018 
Indian Day of Dance and Tea - for the ladies of Oulton and Woodlesford. A dance workshop followed by afternoon tea (cakes, sandwiches and snacks) concluding with professional dance from Chiragi's students. 
10th June 2018 
Oulton Hall Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show - Attended by the new Mayor of Leeds and his wife.

All Saints Parish Hall - Afternoon Tea, quiz and raffle with attendance from Time to Shine team including Katherine Greathead from Leeds Community Foundation

Christmas meal for all members to attend to join in dance and community.

Lady Mayoress' Afternoon Tea at the Civic Hall, Leeds. 
4th May 2019 
Leeds Millenium Square Performance, followed by charity Garden Party at the Myrtle Tavern in Meanwood to raise money for the Haven Breast Cancer charity - everyone welcome (entry is free)! 
21st May 2019 
Launch of Crossgates Classes . Introductory Coffee morning with the opportunity to meet some of our members and see a demonstration of our dance and well being exercise sessions for over 50s. Please come along to find out more. Venue: Newman Centre, Crossgates 10am - 11:30 am - parking available. 
28th May 2019 
The first ever Bolly-Fit class to be held at the Newman Centre Crossgates. Classes are 11am - 12 noon and taught by the very talented Chiragi Solanki. Classes suitable for all abilities and fitness levels and open to both men and women who are aged 50+. Classes are £5. Hope to see you there!

Invitation to perform at Bradford Dragon Boat Festival (Roberts Park in Saltaire) with our teacher Chiragi Solanki and members of her dance school. Please visit our learning and participation page for photos from the event.

Afternoon Tea, Quiz and Fundraiser to be held at All Saints Parish Hall in Woodlesford. To support our local Bollywood and wellbeing classes for the over 50s. Everyone welcome for fun and delicious food. A dance demonstation will also take place to give people a taster of the classes!

Two of our ladies will attend the CareConnect forum, created by Sheffield University to explore how Time to Shine funded projects can help to reduce loneliness among older people and promote social inclusion in local communities.

We will be taking part in the nationwide Tesco 'Dance Beats' event to raise money for three brilliant charities: British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research UK. Our dance slot begins at 3pm - if you can make it, please come along to support us at Tesco Seacroft (York Road, Leeds LS14 6JD).

Opening performance at the Time to Shine marketplace event at Broderick Hall at Leeds City Museum - to support the launch of the Age Proud Leeds campaign (an anti-ageism campaign to tackle age discrimination and to work towards people having a more positive attitude to ageing). We are dancing at 12 noon, everyone welcome so please come along if you can!  
21st October 2019 
Perform at the opening of the Hunslet Community Hub and Library in Leeds in LS10. We will be dancing a short set of 2-3 songs starting from 2pm. If you're able to come along to see the brand new library and community hub and to watch us perform, it will be lovely to see you! Everyone welcome.

Oulton to India trip - some of our ladies to visit India from 25th October to the 3rd November 2019. Our ladies are going to perform in embassies across New Delhi, India on a mini dance tour.

Christmas Coffee, Cake and Craft morning. 10:30am - 12:30pm at All Saints Parish Hall in Woodlesford. A chance to visit stalls with homemade food, craft and flower stalls - beautiful creations by local ladies! There will also be a quiz and a raffle! Tickets are £3.50 and can be bought on the door. Everyone welcome, hope to see you there!

Christmas meal at Franco's at Colton - an opportunity for ladies from across both classes to get together before Christmas and also to meet new members from the other class to socialise over the festive period.

Final class of 2019. We will have two weeks off for Christmas to spend time with friends and family.

Performance at St Chad's Church, Otley Road at Community Heros Celebration event - to celebrate the wonderful contribution individuals and groups make in their local Leeds community.

Chiragi Solanki Showcase - A Bollywood bonanza bringing together all the classes that Chiragi teaches. Students aged between 5 and 90 years old will perform in a fantastic showcase at the Carriageworks Theatre at Millenium Square to display talent from all around Leeds. POSTPONED until further notice. 
March 2020 
UK Wide lockdown due to COVID-19, all classes close until further notice.

2020 
A larger temporary venue has been found and classes can restart today with strict Covid-19 guidelines in place. Classes are now at Swithen's Farm, Rothwell LS26 0BT. Crossgates classes remain closed for now - awaiting news on venue reopen date.

Online Zoom classes resumed until May 2021, due to Covid lockdown regulations.

Online Coffee morning with CD Foundation to discuss Festival of India at Oulton Hall Hotel, organised by Charu Das of CD Foundation Delhi, India. Participants were the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Leeds Council (Karen), Dance Artist (Ms Chiragi Solanki), Ladies of D Dance Theatre CIC (Diana), Director Susan Warrior, Ayesha Shamim and business participants from Delhi, India.

Participation of D Dance Theatre CIC at Eros Hotel, New Delhi organised by CD Foundation. 
19 May 2021 
We opened the first face to face Health and Wellbeing Bollywood dance classes, at Woodlesford Parish Hall with an attendance of 22 ladies and a few newcomers. We also fully had our first face to face group meeting with Tea and Cookies! These classes will continue every Wednesday. 
7th June 2021 
Cross Gates Health and Bollywood dance classes starting and will continue every Monday thereon.
